MISSION STATEMENT

The Community Blood Council of New Jersey is dedicated to providing the safest blood products and related services to our hospital based customers.

TO FULLFILL THIS MISSION, WE ARE COMMITTED TO:

  • Recognizing the donor, donor group and the chairperson as our ultimate customer and striving to meet their requirements in order to enhance the working relationship with the Community Blood Council of New Jersey.
  • Building loyal, long-term relationships with our employees, donors, donor groups, patients and hospitals with a consistent, ethical and quality performance.
  • Enhancing the effectiveness of our organization through teamwork and by valuing the input of all individuals.
  • Educating employees and the community on blood services.
  • Meeting/exceeding industry standards through continual process improvements.

WHO WE ARE:

The Community Blood Council of New Jersey, Inc. has been providing blood support in this region since 1966.

Our organization is a not for profit 501 (c)(3), governed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees. CBCNJ is licensed as a community blood bank by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (#0137) and the Food & Drug Administration (#1247). We adhere to the Standards of the American Association of Blood Banks. In addition, we are registered with the Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA) (#31D0695903).

ACADEMIC COMMUNITY SUPPORT:

The Platelet Apheresis / Whole Blood Programs are supported by Professors John Sheats, Ph.D. and James Riggs, Ph.D. of Rider University. This includes the pre-med honor society (Beta Beta Beta) that has initiated an apheresis program.
